Today we meet God in Exodus, chapter three, verses five through six. As close as God desires us to be with him, we must also remember he is holy and his holiness requires a respect that is impossible for us and our humanity to give. But God knows this, and as holy as our loving father is, he desires relationship with us more. So he provides ways for us to be in his presence first and foremost through the ultimate sacrifice of his son Jesus. And also, like in today's passage, through acts of worship as simple as taking off your shoes.
